Albums

Toto’s discography includes 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto’s third studio album was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985, singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group The band held auditions to find the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The group went through old tapes and recordings to create the album. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is an American rock band that was formed in 1977 in Van Nuys, Greater Los Angeles. The group consists of Steve Lukather (vocalist/guitarist), David Paich (bassist), Steve Porcaro (keyboardist/vocalist), Jeff Porcaro and Joseph Williams, guitarist/vocalist. The tour was interrupted when Bobby Kimball, the lead vocalist, was arrested for drug charges. At the conclusion of the tour the band decided to let him go and hired guitarist and singer Joseph Williams to take his place. David Hungate, the drummer also quit the band after the tour. Leland Sklar was his replacement.

The TOTO Museum is a futuristic building that has several exhibit rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. The exhibits include toilets, faucets and tableware that have contributed to the expansion of the TOTO brand over the last half century. The museum is home to special exhibits all year round.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has released a variety of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video for the band is “Africa” that has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, with the band performing on top of a stack of African books.

Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto’s formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of old songs. The album was a hit all over the world and the band went on a world tour to promote the album.

The album, released on the 6th of November, 2018 featured three new tracks from their forthcoming album 40 Trips Around the Sun as well as completed recordings of four previously released tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also included the cover of Weezer’s track “Hash Pipe” which the band opted to add after hearing a version on the radio.

Toto has also recorded soundtracks for a variety of television shows and films.

Toto was formed in Los Angeles by high school age friends drummer David Paich, guitarist Steve Lukather and brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro. The band became one of the most well-known rock groups around the globe and has sold over 40 million albums. The band continues to play sold-out concerts around the world and has received numerous awards and praises. Toto’s members are serious about their music, but do not take themselves too seriously.
